Poem of the Week: Empty

July 28, 2017

Nothing there.
Puzzling, pondering, stalling.
I’ve got jack squat.
Irritating, frustrating, embarrassing…
Forget this!

Poem of the Week: The Forgetful Bard

The Forgetful Bard
March 7, 2014

My brain once had a thought.
Seconds later, it did not,
And like a clown,
I failed to jot it down,
Which made my though for naught.

‘Tis an issue I’ve often faced,
Letting my thoughts get misplaced,
And you’d think I’d learn
Not to get so burned
And get so much egg on my face.

After all, in my career,
I need creativity, dear—
All I can get, too,
To entertain you
And other folks near and far.

One question remains, then, Jack:
Will I ever get that thought back,
Or is it “So long”
To that thought that’s now gone
Since my mind faded to black?

I fear only time will tell
If I shall recall it well,
For I just refuse
To suffer the abuse
Of my putting my mind through Hell.

I thus hope you all can sit tight
‘Til my brain once more works right,
And perhaps in time,
I’ll remember that rhyme,
Whether it comes day or night.

Before I sign off, everyone, thank you so much for helping me reach over 200 followers here on WordPress.com! Your support means a lot to me. In the meantime, however, don’t be afraid to check out my author pages at Smashwords.com, Amazon.com, and Amazon.co.uk. Also, my search for an agent to help me represent my latest novel, The Kingdom of Somnia (recently renamed since I’d first talked about it on June 22, 2013), continues. Wish me well there, too. Aside from that, though, thanks again for your patronage, and happy reading!
