Poem of the Week: Back to the Grind

Welcome back, readers!

Well, now that the Holidays are officially over, it’s time for us all to get back to business, and what better way to get back to the grind than with a poem entitled just that? That said, here it is. Please enjoy!

Back to the Grind
January 4, 2014

So much to do, so much to see
When you return to the grind,
And what you go through
To do what you do
To keep from falling behind

Is enough to blow your blessed mind,
Lest you know how to see yourself through
To keep cool under pressure
And learn how to measure
The strife you put yourself through.

After all, the play time that’s meant for you
Is no everlasting treasure.
Careful you must be,
So save it, you see,
And learn to savor the pleasure,

For sure enough, you’ll be back under pressure,
Nose back to the grindstone, you see,
So that your behind
Doesn’t fall behind
In becoming what you want to be.

Well, folks, there you have it—my first official poem for 2014. Thank you all for stopping by to check it out, and in the meantime, feel free to also check out my author pages at Smashwords.com, Amazon.com, and Amazon.co.uk to check out what I have for purchase. Until next time, though, as always, happy reading!
