First Poem of 2014: Lazy Day Panic

Happy New Year 2014Happy 2014, everybody!

Just thought I’d throw out the following poem of mine to kick the new year into gear—nothing more, nothing less. Enjoy!

Lazy Day Panic
January 1, 2014

So much to do! I don’t know where to start.
So much time I’ve wasted already on
The matter at hand, and it pains my heart
To know I’ve done so. Still, I must be strong.
Time to get things together, boys and girls,
And stop goofing off like I’m still a kid
So that I can make my mark on the world
Like others my age once ‘pon a time did.
It’s time to grow up, show all what I’ve got,
Making ev’ry second count in this life,
For what’s to gain being a lazy sot
Besides even more torment, pain, and strife?
I’ve already lived that for nine full years,
And I refuse to make it ten right here.

And that should do it for me tonight. Thank you all for making 2013 a year to remember as far as this blog’s existence goes. I truly appreciate all your support—every read, every “like,” every comment, and every new subscriber. It all means a lot to me, and I hope that in this coming year—and in the future in general—that things only look up for me as a writer from this point forward. That being said, please continue showing your support by visiting my author pages at Smashwords.com, Amazon.com, and Amazon.co.uk to check out what I have for purchase. Aside from that, though, thanks again, everyone and as always, happy reading!

Regards,
Dustin M. Weber
