Hey, readers, and Happy Veteran’s Day, America!
For the sake of encouraging poster-reader interaction, I’ll leave it to you to figure out what the meaning of this week’s “Poem of the Week” is, then leave a reply to this blog entry below. Aside from that, enjoy!
Whatcha Gonna Do?
November 2, 2012
Stuck in a rut! Now whatcha gonna do?
You’ve got yourself in a corner there, ace.
You shoulda paid attention to where you
Were going, but you didn’t. Now your face
Has enough egg on it for an omelet,
All ‘cause you just had to rush ev’rything,
And look how sloppy a job you’ve done, yet
Listen to all the praises people sing
About you now, not truly knowing what
You’re all about, thinking you’re the bee’s knees
When, let it be known, you’re anything but—
Lest, of course, you’ve got something to show me
That I haven’t seen before out of you.
So what’ll it be? Whatcha gonna do?
This concludes this week’s “Poem of the Week.” I sincerely hope you all have had fun deciphering the meaning of this poem and will continue looking forward to whatever other poems I shall be posting here in the near future. As proposed earlier, please leave your interpretations in the comments section below, and as always, thank you for once again stopping by, and please check out my author page at Smashwords.com for current and future releases, and follow me on Twitter @DustinMWeber. Until next time, then, a salute to all who have served the U.S. of A. at home and abroad, and to everyone in general, happy reading!
